Eviction Moratorium and Rent Freeze Extended

The eviction moratorium has been extended until July 31, 2020 and may be extended by the LA County Board of Supervisors on a month-to-month basis. Tenants must notify their landlord within seven days after their rent is due, unless extenuating circumstances exist, that they are unable to pay rent due to a loss of income related to COVID-19. Tenants will have 12 months following the end of the moratorium period to pay back any amount due.

You can use this template (en español) to notify your landlord of your inability to pay rent.

The temporary moratorium took effect March 4 this year.
